Flock Fibre Studio Flash Mob Spring 2018
As part of our 2018 theme: our love for all things Alberta, we’ve chosen an image of Abraham Lake, taken by Canadian photographer, Michael Wheatley.
This man-made lake in northeastern Alberta was a favourite hunting spot for our dad, who used to go there every year with friends to hunt moose, deer and elk. Back in the 70’s, big game hunting was an annual event and provided meat for our family for the whole winter.
Kim, from Flock Fibre in Calgary, dyed these three colourways: Sandstone, Spring Thaw and Spruce based on the image. The yarn is her Take a Hike sock base (a smooth, 3 ply fingering weight, superwash 80% merino 20% nylon). With 416yds/380meters to each 115 gram skein, it's ideal for socks and other accessories. We think Kim did an amazing job!
